Troubleshooting

Applies to version 1.0.7

I can't see the notification icon in the system tray.
The icon may be hidden by the taskbar.
  • In Windows XP, click the Show All Icons button on the taskbar. You should see the Stopwatch notification icon among any unhidden icons.
  • In Windows Vista/7, click the Show hidden icons button on the taskbar. You should see the Stopwatch notification icon among any unhidden icons.

I still can't see the notification icon in the system tray.
The icon's notification settings may be set not to allow Stopwatch to show up in the notification area.
  • Right-click the taskbar and select Properties.
    • Windows XP: On the Taskbar tab, make sure Hide inactive icons is not checked.
      • If it is, click customize.
      • Scroll through the list and select "Always Show" for the Stopwatch entry. Click OK.
    • Windows Vista/7: On the Taskbar tab, click Customize.
      • Scroll through the entries until you find Stopwatch. Then choose "Show Icon and Notifications".

I accidentally checked "Hide this warning" on the confirm exit dialog and I want it back.
  • Simultaneously press and hold the Shift key and click the Stopwatch entry in the Start Menu.

I can't see the Stopwatch window when I start the program.
The program may have saved a start position that is off-screen.
  • Simultaneously press and hold the Shift key and click the Stopwatch entry in the Start Menu.
